The album was originally recorded for Island during Autumn, 1965 with McNair(tenor sax, flute); Alan Branscombe(piano) plus two-thirds of the Ornette Coleman trio, David Izenson(bass) & Charles Moffett(drums).
The six varied tracks include four standards, a blues original from McNair and a Brazilian tune.
McNair is in great form on tenor and flute with a superb rhythm section.
Charles Fox, 'Affectionate Fink' is a fine introduction to the talented Harold McNair and this inventive, exhilarating music deserves to be more widely known.
